I do not see the lines you spoke of, but you may be referring to
strikethrough.  If this is the case, when in Word, click on "Format" then
"Font".  In the middle of the opened box, under "Effects" see if the
Strikethrough checkbox is checked.  If so, uncheck it.  This should end your
black line problem.
