If I thought there was a virus on a computer I would not do anything
that might provide a route for the virus to get to another computer no
matter how secure. Given that the questionable computer does not have an
AV program on it, I would download AVG on the good computer, burn it to
a CD, start the questionable computer in Safe Mode with Internet
service, using the CD I burned install and update the AVG, and then run
a complete scan.

There are probably several other ways to accomplish the same goal to
make sure the questionable computer is clean of viruses.

Remember, there could be other reasons why your Internet connection is
not now functioning, but your post does not provide sufficient
information to address any of those issues.

I did this on the first computer and everything worked as expected. I was able to download to the second computer but not install the AV software. Now I can not even get onto the internet.

Any suggestions on how I can do this myself would help. Hate to take it to a computer store and pay $60 if I can do it myself. Not an expert but have been working on and building computers for several years. Built the two I have now.
