(3)in this article MS say "A vulnerability in graphics rendering engine could allow remote code exexcution"

(4) in a free anti virus newsletter i have read that WMF exploit is caused by a serious flaw in "MS fax and picture viewer" and gives technical details.I however must add that I do not know how far this is true because I am not that technical a person. if you want, let me know, and i can send you the URL of this anti virus newsletter.

(5) as far as I understand if one views a picture in WMF format/or in windows fax and picture viewer AND IF A REMOTE CODE HAS BEEN EXECUTED INTO THE CONCERNED PICTURE THEN AND ONLY THEN ONES COMPUTER SYSTEM IS SERIOUSLY COMPROMISED.BUT IT COULD BE AN EXAGERATED DANGER AS POINTED OUT BY Hugh Vandervoort.

(5)the bottom line as I see it is the relevent MS security patch MUST be applied to avoid this danger.

(6)in view of your apprehensions about "MS updates/patches" I am giving below a URL (WHICH IS THAT OF PENN STATE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES) wich gives details of this "WMF exploit" and also has a provision to download the MS security patch from their site.
