Right click the Start button and select "Explore". Click Programs|Start
Up. If shortcuts to any of these programs are there, delete them. This
will not affect operation of the program, it just won't launch
automatically. If the shortcuts aren't there, perhaps there is a setting
in the program which you can toggle so it won't start. For AOL Instant
Messenger, have a look at Sec. 3, No. 9 at http://www.ufaq.org/.
