If you do a complete copy to the new drive, the OS will also transfer. You
will probably still need to do a "repair" install using the CD that you
have. The CD does not carry a serial number (as far as I know), but you will
need to have the serial number of the OS for the computer you are
transferring the OS on. The serial number is located on the authenticity
label that comes with the computer or Windows CD package. If you do not have
the serial number, then there is a problem!

My boot disk is showing signs of trouble and I'd like to transfer everything
over to another HD I already have on the system. I realize this disk will
need to be the master, but how do I get the operating system (WinXP) over to
the second disk? I don't have the same original Windows XP CD, although I
do have another that I bought and put on another system. How would I do
this (hopefully, easily)?
