Can't you just copy your original CD? I did that with mine (full retail
version), then installed from the copy & put the original in my bank box.
You are supposed to be entitled to "fair use" of media which includes a
backup copy.
Anyway, I THINK you can install from ANY (same OS) CD and then use your own
codes to activate it. Unless I am mistaken, I think what you are paying for
is the activation codes / product keys, rather than the install media
itself.

HI Ray
Well, I was only thinking if I had scratched or misplaced this CD for XP...
I would need this. But I tried to make a copy of my XP and it wouldn't let
me. I don't know if it's cause something is wrong with my drive, or MS
fixed
it where you couldn't copy them. I know in previous ones, I have been able
to copy -- that way I had a spare.
But thanks for the info. I appreciate it. Harriet

Read the directions at the link I sent you in the last post. You need to
copy the folder onto your hard drive not onto a CD.
When you say you got your original CD out, is it a Windows XP install
CD? If so, I don't understand why you needed to create a new one.
