After reading your post, I ran Windows Update on two of three machines on my
network, one of which is a Dell Dimension 2350, and the other is a mutt with
an ECS K7SOM+ mobo, both running XP. The other machine runs ME and I haven't
fired it up yet today, but had no problem running Update.
