The year 2000 problem relates primarily to old software
running on large mainframe computers. The problem is if the
programmer in 1980, used a 2 digit space for the year, the
program must be changed to accomodate a 4 digit year and all
of the data files must also be changed. The problem is
mainly in government software and bank software, where 10,
15 & even 20 year old software is still utilitzed.
Windows 95 & Office 95 are year 2000 compliant.
