OK. The preface here is that I use my computer a lot, but know just enough
about Windows, etc., to be dangerous. I have an HP Pavilion 8380, about 2
years old that I really haven't loaded a lot on. Virtually all of what is
being used is "original equipment", hardware and software.
I came across a program in my computer, Intel Connection Advisor. Even as I
write this, offline, it says my computer processor use is 100%, although it
occasionally dips to about 50%, then right back up to 100%.
Before signing on, my resource meter was saying:
system: 69%
user: 69%
GDI: 80%
After signing on, it is at 64/64/78
Not sure what all this means, but my computer has been sluggish, slow
changing screens, getting pretty rainbow colors on screens that should be a
solid color. Sorry if this is kind of nebulous, but I can't put my finger on
the problem, except, my computer just don't run right. I did a defrag
recently, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Before signing on, alt-cont-del showed the following:
Intel Connection Advisor
America Online - [write mail]
Explorer
Rsrcmtr
Airsvcu
Rundll
Systray
Aticwd32
Aoltray
Vetmsg9x
After signing on to AOL, Rnaapp was added.
Any thoughts on what the various meter readings say? Is there a problem out
there that is apparent from this information? To repeat an earlier question,
is there anywhere to find out what all those Airsvcu's et. al., mean? Will
little Ricky ever outgrow this?
