I use a freeware program called Rambooster, that I think someone here on the list
recommended. You can read about it at
http://www.saunalahti.fi/~borg/rambooster/ Here is part of what it says -
"Windows fills up your computer's memory (RAM)
little by little and finally RAM is filled with unnecessary data.
Sooner or later you have to reboot your computer
to make it work faster.
With RamBooster you can continuously monitor
the amount of RAM.
If the amount of free RAM goes too low,
free more with RamBooster.
RamBooster can do this automatically if you wish."
I use the automatic feature and have been very pleased with it.

I have tried a number of RAM boosters. All have had the problem of
boosting RAM slower than needed. When my Norton Utilities sensor would
show low RAM, the RAM booster would not respond until next set interval,
such as every minute. I would be interested if any subscriber has found a
RAM booster that responds automatically on demand.
