Karen,

First try running the Scandisk program.  Click on
START -- RUN -- ACCESSORIES -- SYSTEM TOOLS
and the click the SCANDISK option.
Pick Drive C: and the STANDARD option.

If that does not help, then we will need more specific details.
Like:
WHICH screen saver were you using?
Exactly what do you mean by ".... reset it...."?
What happens when the screen saver is supposed to
"turn on"?  Do you get an error message? Does the PC lock up?

The more details you give us, the better/faster we can help you.
