I did not see a response to this, so I will give you my limited info. As I
recall, Microsoft added this "feature" in Word 2000. I use Word XP and it
works that way for me. Although it was strange at first, I now find I like
it better. Anyway, getting back to your question. I believe that there is an
option to make it work the old way, but I need to refer you to Woody's
Office Watch for this. There was an article on it some time back. Check them
