I don't know if this will help, but I had a similar problem with an internet
transcription service program. Nothing worked until I deleted the
transcription program entirely, then re-installed it. It worked perfectly
after that. Try it, it couldn't hurt! And good luck!

>Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me find a hidden pop-up blocker in my
>Windows98 programs.
>A study course I'm taking over the internet would not start. I called the
>school tech support and was told that my Google pop-up blocker was
>interfering with the lesson. I turned it off but still the lesson would
>not start. I called again and the tech support agent asked about AOL
>(which I don't use), investigated, took control of my pc, tried different
>things but still no progress. Another techie came on board and believes I
>have another pop-up blocker. He asked that I do a CTL/ALT/DELETE to see
>if he could recognize any program that might be the culprit but none of the
>names I called out was familiar enough for him to want to delete, so
>nothing was done. He sent me to an internet site (I have IE) that he knew
>had 2 pop-ups and sure enough, no pop-ups appeared. He concluded that I
>still had an active pop-up blocker. Can someone tell me how to find where
>this pop-up blocker might reside so that it can be removed/disabled and I
>can continue with my lessons.
>
>Thank you,
