Tom,
Sorry I forgot to give spec's on my system.
I am running WinME, IE version 5.5, 40 gig HD, 248 MB mem, AVG
Anti-virus. Just switched to them from Norton.
No special time Iexplore error appears. For instance it appeared when I
booted up this AM. Does happen sometimes when I am online. I always just
close it out. Doesn't seem to effect anything.
Obviously something is going on with Internet Explorer, although I have
no trouble getting online.
Haven't used Microsoft data base. In the past it has not been of much
help. Will try your site.
Still looking for an answer.

Not being sure what Operating System, version of IE, and virus/firewall
software you are using it is difficult to direct you in the right
direction. Are you sure that when you're not online and receive this
message that it doesn't read "Explorer" instead of "IE"?
The kernel32 error occurs when an application tries to access
kernel32.dll's protected memory space. It can be a particular program or
application, or it can be multiple files and applications.
This error can also occur due to faulty hardware issues such as device
drivers, memory, etc.
Here is an example of a microsoft fix:

Micrsoft has an excellent data base for kernel32 errors
