Since we're dealing with Word, I'd like to describe another very troublesome
bug with Word XP on Windows XP. You can do it together with me:

Type a line of text. Click Enter.
Type a number 1, tab, and then type some brief text.
Hit Enter and after the automatic number 2, type some more text. Repeat
several times.
Now - here's the clincher:
Place your cursor in the margin so that you can select the entire first line
of text. Select that text, and then click on the Bold icon.
All of your automatic numbers will disappear, and the entire sequence will
be bolded.
Now press Undo. The top row is bold and the numbers have returned.

I have had to do this in a document over and over and over again.

Is there a way to correct this strange behavior in Word?
