Thanks, but it's fixed now.
Just thought that everyone should know:
It was fixed by Nuts & Bolts Disk Minder, which first gave some
message about the Recycle Bin file being the wrong size.  Disk
Minder even revived the files which had completely
disappeared when the Recycle Bin was broken 9though it
returned them to their original locations, not to the recycle bin).
