That's "until the power supply was disconnected from the
motherboard and reconnected". Restoration of external power was
necessary in any case, but not sufficient.

Last fall, we built about 110 rack-mounted servers with
dual-PII-266 440FX motherboards in them. The AiR boards had this
fix; the Tyan boards did not, and Tyan seemed surprised but
unconcerned when we reported the problem to them (twice).
Of course both have introduced 440LX boards since then, so it's
probably no longer an issue.
