This is one of the less expert postings, however, on I'll go.  I know that
with some of the functions I want to access at my university it is only
possible if you are using the uni URL, this is mostly databases that they
pay a subscription for however.  The other possibility is that she should go
to the help desk at uni, and make sure they don't have to "recognise" her
address.  For example, all my email to my student address is forwarded here.
