After buying a new computer, I decided to attempt uncompressing a hard drive
on my PB60( it still has the infamous calculation error). Sufficient memory
was available on my second 1.2Gig drive, so I let it run overnight because
it was so slow.
For whatever reason, it halted, so I attempted a reboot. The error message
says that the files needed to run windows in standard mode could not be
found, and I should enter"win /3" after C:\FAILSAFE.DRV\FAILSAFE>. Nothing
happened, so I tried all sorts of different recovery boot discs.
I have not tried the original PB recovery yet.
I had W98 preview running, but the bu disc I had saved was before they moved
the date to Dec 98 and it tells me the preview expired.
Outside of cleaning both C and D and starting over, anyone with a clue on
the direction I should take. I had hoped to reconfigure to W95, to analyze
the remaining files I had, then ultimately go to LINUX.
