A friend has MS Office '97 on his system. One 'freaky night' he said, he
lost his MS Word icon from his desktop. He was attempting to double click
the icon from his desktop when this happened. He went to Start/Programs to
call up Word but couldn't find it there either. He said the rest of the
Office programs but Word are all there. I had to walk him through via My
Computer to access his OFFICE directory and extract the Word shortcut icon
back into his desktop.

Now my question is... this is the first time I've heard of this happening,
has anyone any idea of what caused this to happen? 2nd question- how can
he make MS Word show back up on the program list (Start/Programs)?

Stat: Win98 S/E on AMD 1.3GHz Duron, 512 MB memory, 20 GB HD, CDR, CDR-W,
and a good 1800joules surge protector.

TIA!!
Emie
