Don't know what your old and new OS and exactly what you want to move over
(files, or programs or both), but you can direct connect between both
machines, USB, parallel or serial with software; install your old HD as
slave in your new box; or what I found to be the easiest is to buy a drive
kit, (range in price $50 - $70, cheaper if sale) and just drop (fugitively
speaking) your old drive in, hook it up to your new computer via USB and
voila, all your old files and programs are there ready to use. Loss in
transfer and processing speed is hardly noticeable for most users. Just be
sure the kit contains a cooling fan and has its own direct power source.
