I have a curious problem that seems to have started all of a sudden and I
cannot figure out why.
I use Outlook 2000 (running under Win2k pro) as my e-mail program and today
when I went to send some attachments of various sizes and file types, I
noted that certain larger ones (it seems like any over 100kb in raw size)
were automatically being zipped into a .zip archive in between me hitting
the send button and them getting out of my outbox.
So, some files went out for example as file1.jpg and others as
file2.jpg.zip. If you unzipped the second one after arrival, file2.jpg was
there inside and unaltered.
This has not happened before as far as I know, and to the best of my
knowledge no Outlook settings have been changes.
So the question is, who is zipping my files behind my back. Is there some
setting that I can't find in Outlook that is telling this to happen, or has
my ISP pulled fast one and done something that affects me on the local
level.
Any help is appreciated. I find this annoying. It should be my choice what
to zip and not zip.
