Hi Harriet,
Erunt is actually meant to restore the Registry on an existing, but
corrupted system.
It may not fare that well on a bare-metal restoration ( re-formatted
disk.) IOW ,don't use it in the way you imply in your question.
If the restoration is eg. from an image, as from Acronis True Image
http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ which will
restore to an empty (formatted) disk, you don't need Erunt
Using Erunt after a re-install from a (preferably updated) XP CD
will only lead to confusion, since the newly installed XP won't have
the programs installed that the Erunt backup refers to.
(programs you had added later after the initial XP installation)
It may however be useful if you do a non-destructive Repair or
Recovery.Provided of course that the Erunt backup is clean.

I hope this makes it somewhat clearer.

Peter, I want to make sure I understand this right... I downloaded that
Erunt, and should I ever have to format., do I take that folder out
before I do and save it - is that the purpose of getting your registry
folder? Should I format, what will I do with the folder that comes
with the CD. Maybe I'm not understanding this procedure right? And
do I go through the CD as I've done before letting it load every thing,
then exchange those folders? Harriet
