Bob,
When I decided to "install" the Equation Editor into my Word (97) I had to
go back and install it from my Office 97 Installation CD. The process was
just like installing Office Suite 97 for the first time through it's AutoRun
engine. When the Installation Program came up, I went through the process
except that I unchecked everything and went straight to the Office Tools
box, pulled up and checked the Equation Editor to install. That was Office
97. I am not familiar with the XP version but I thought they should be
similar in installing or adding components to your Office Suite. HTH.

Editor. I opened the control panel, clicked on add/remove programs, clicked
on MS Office, slected change, and located under Office Tools an equation
option. I then installed the equation component and was "told" the
installation was complete. However, when I open Word, go to Insert/Objects
the menu does not show MS Equation Editor 3.0 as the help function says
should now be available. What am I missing here?
