Hi Larry,
Python is a third party scripting language sort of like Perl. If you have
it on your computer, then maybe it was installed for some reason. Perhaps
some other SW you downloaded uses it, but Windows itself does not need it
in any way. However, it should not hurt anything to be there. It is not
used unless something invokes a python script.
