Don, am right in assuming you mean remove (see below) and reinstall?
There are many sites that won't let you maneuver without Java.

Java has always been a real pain. You'd think that by now Sun programmers 
would have it right.

When this has happened, I've had some success with a free Java remover 
called Javara.
