An easier way to accomplish a "clean" install is to delete the original win 3.1
direcrory and sub directories,
insert the win95 upgrade cd and begin the install. When install looks for the
win 3.1x directory it will not find it.
It will ask for an alternate directory ...at this point insert the FIRST floppy
for win3.1 in the A drive and direct the install program to it.
It will "see" the win3.1 files and proceed....the good news is that it will not
bring any "BAD" habits with it in the upgrade...the conflicts you once had are
now gone and win95 reconfigures it to the new OS.
Hope this helps
