I think thatīs the point.
Many home users and even some users at work are not aware of what we risk to
take the advantages of being part of a network. When most, they let all the
work to antivirus programms and dont pay atention to maintain their OS with
the last updates.
With that patch there is not chance for Blaster, A, B, or whichever to
exploit that known vulnerability.
