My win 2k box was working fine. Before I went to bed I
started the disk defrag utility. In the morning I
returned to a black screen finding a message regarding
something to the effect that I needed to find a
windows 2k update. As I was stuck in that screen
I restarted the system to find the pc running through
what appeared to be a scan disk of some sort. Once the
"scan disk" was complete the system looked as if it
was going to fly. Rather it restart itself. The OS
boots up to the Windows 2000 Pro start up screen, with
a small "task bar" on the bottom. After the task bar
is full, of thick cursor like bars, the system just
hangs for about a minute then quickly changes to a
blue screen, then aborts and restarts. It will keep
doing this over and over. I have tried to run in safe
mode and the last good configuration, but only to
repeat the above description. Any ideas?????
