I would resist reinstalling OS. Try removing and reinstalling printer
cable. Try substituting different cable. Try removing printer from Device
Manager and letting Windows reinstall on bootup. See if Lexmark has
updated driver on their website. Win98se has a troubleshooting sequence
in Help.
