Thanks for the info.
I had mentioned it takes several hours for defragmentation.
Checked and found that for defragmentation (under Win98), it takes several
hours when the settings "rearrange program files so my programs run faster"
and "check drives for errors" are checked. When these are unchecked, it
takes a substantially lesser amount of time. It took about 60 minutes to
defrag a 1.2GB hdd. Must find out what effect this has on performance, though.
