Monica,
It's a Deskpro 575 (I have one sitting on my dining room table torn apart
right now). Compaq PCs will recognize a new hard drive when you reboot
after installation, if everything is connected properly. That would be the
first thing to check. If your connections are correct and still nothing
happens, I'd give Compaq a call. Their number is 1-800-652-6672. Their
tech support people are very helpful and will talk you through just about
any problem. Good luck.
