The keyboard that I have is an "Evercool" model W9868 "Multimedia LED
Keyboard".
The "Multimedia" designation reflects the presence of an extra row of
buttons above the function keys, marked with icons for functions like
Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Email, Search, and the like. I cannot find
any reference to a driver for this keyboard -- the only reason I can
think of that it might need one is to enable these extra buttons.
The Illumination On/Off button is the rightmost in this extra row.
That machine spend most of its time running Ubuntu Linux and only
occasionally running Win7, so I've never actually used any other button
in that row.
The illumination is sufficient for me to find the keys with the lights
out (because my wife is sleeping). It might or might not be sufficient
for others.

I use an illuminated USB keyboard, which I believe I ordered off of
Amazon, but it's the same size as a regular keyboard and requires no
special driver. (I think at one point I found a switch to turn the
illumination off, but I never do that and can't find it now...)
Since it's "normal" sized, I don't know if it would be useful, but if
it would then I can look up the make/model and pass the info along.

Oh well usually I am offering answers, now I an asking for one:
Situation;
My eyesight is failing and I need a large illuminated keyboard. I have
tried
3 1 was wireless Logitec and totally unacceptable.
The other 2 are ROCCAT Izku and the Razer Anansi I installed the driver
for
both boards, and they both installed as "Other"
In Device Manager
(note) a Microsoft level 1 technician using remote access attempted to
install the drivers every meathod I tried for an hour
And he came to the conclusion the board was defective
System Info;
Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3-B3 Main Board
16 Gb RAM
Win 7 64 Bit
KAS Pure 2 (Disabled for installation)
I am awaiting receipt from GigabyteUSA verification the USB mouse &
keyboard
ports are USB2
Does anyone have a suggested solution other than talk to text? (would
you
like to know how many mics I have thrown across the room?)
