Unless your current firewall and AV stop you from downloading there should be no reason you can't download Avast and Zonealarm. Just DO NOT install either one until you've cleaned Norton out of your computer. You can go to the Symantec site to get a special removal tool because an ordinary uninstall just won't do it. Otherwise do a google search for Norton removal instructions. Norton is like a cancer, it metastasizes all over your computer, and is hard to completely remove.
