That's quite a different matter than the question you first asked. It's a
function of Word 97, nothing to do with your general computer color
settings (I'm assuming your computer is otherwise functioning normally).
Reformatting means losing everything now on your computer, and unless you
have some experience or someone handy to guide you, it's definitely not a
task to be undertaken lightly.
You'd have to be capable of reinstalling all your programs, drivers, etc,
and have all your data and other stuff backed up first. That's a rather
daunting task, and only a very last desperate resort if all else fails.
Unless someone knowledgeable about Word (I don't use it) can help you,
forget about this minor problem unless it's terribly important to you.
