It means Intel CPU as in 80x86. X86 refers to the Intel 8086 CPU family
used in PCs, which includes the 8086, 8088, 80186, 80286, 386, 486,
Pentium, Pentium MMX, Pentium Pro and Pentium II.
NT4 also supports the Alpha chip which was a family of RISC-based, 64-bit
CPUs and computer systems. Look on the NT4 CD and you will see a directory
for this chip
