win 98SE contains 2 similar apps: WORDPAD.EXE & WRITE.EXE

WORDPAD.EXE = 184 K
location = C:\Program Files\Accessories
description = WordPad MFC Application
file version = 2.0
product version = 4.0
created = 16.8.1999
modified = 16.8.1999
Copyright C Microsoft Corp. 1995-1998

WRITE.EXE = 20 K
location = C:\Windows
description = Windows Write
file version = 4.10.1998
product version = 4.10.1998
created = unknown
modified = 16.8.1999
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp. 1991-1998

1- how come both apps are here and not one of them only?
2- is there a 'practical' difference between them?
3- is WORDPAD.EXE newer than WRITE.EXE ?
4- what things one app is capable of doing and the other is not?

Thanks --- Hass Shayto
