I think the original question refers to scanning e-mails for viruses 
without having to scan the entire hard drive. Most anti virus programs 
(I'm not familiar with PC-cillin) have a provision for scanning incoming 
e-mails in real time. In fact, it is likely a default setting.

Go through the options in PC-cillin to check to see if incoming e-mail 
scanning is activated. Then you do not have to scan the entire hard 
drive to check just the e-mails.
