I know of two good ones.
Both are good, and both check a bit different things:
1) Bobby: http://www.cast.org/bobby/
2) Dr. HTML: http://www2.imagiware.com/RxHTML/htdocs/single.html
There is another one (http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/) which for
some reasons, doesn't recognize transitional HTML 4.0 and thus I
cannot recommend it.
