How is the office computer connected to the Internet? If the office computer
has an Internet routable, fixed IP address, then it is possible for the NT
machine at home to use the "net use" command. Here is how it works:

Open a command window in NT and issue this command:

net use w: \\192.136.11.52\myshare password /user:myname

In this case, w: is the drive letter that will appear on the home NT
machine, the IP address given is the one for the office machine, "myshare"
is the name of the shared drive or folder on the office computer, password
is the password for the office computer, and myname is the user name that
matches the password for the office.

I you want to do the reverse; share resources of the home computer to access
it from the office, you would need to share a folder or drive on the NT
machine at home. Set appropriate security on the shared resource (remember
that the Internet is looking at it). Also enable network access to your
machine for the office computer. This is done through user manager in NT, I
believe (I am running win2k right now and it is different).

Hope this helps.

There are 2 computers at home, one with winNT and the other with win95.
They communicate with each other. The computer with winNT is using cable
modem to connect to the office. The office computer has win98 and it is a
part of the LAN (Hummingbird software, 10/100 PCI ethernet card, 10BaseT).

Project:

The user would like to map his home PC (with winNT) to his office PC
(with win98). How are we to go about it ?
