Hi Victor,

Apparently one or both those files, probably the .dll, is/are corrupted.
What it's telling you is that you can replace it with one copied/extracted
from the installation CD, or in your case, the restore CD. If that isn't
feasible, I can send you both files (280 KB).

As I understand your Outlook Express question, links in e-mail don't open
Internet Explorer. If this is the problem, check the following Microsoft
Knowledge Base article:

Internet Shortcuts in Outlook Express Don't Start Browser
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q177054

Also, you may need to re-register the URL monitor. Sometimes you have to
spank it if it's not working. Click on Start | Run and enter: "REGSVR32
URLMON.DLL" (sans quotes). You should then have a dialog telling you that
the procedure was completed. Next, fire up Internet Explorer and Click Tools
| Internet Options | Programs | then click the "Reset Web Settings" button.
Now, check to see if Web links work like they should in your Outlook
Express. With any luck, you'll have returned your system to normal.

Internet Explorer and Outlook Express can be reinstalled but it can get
complicated and be a hassle. The best solution is to restore your system to
a known good state via backup (which most people don't have).

With the following mesage below :The application or DLL
C:windows|system32\msctf.dll is not a valid window immage. Please check this
with your installations diskette.
How do I do this since my pc came with preloaded operating system and I do

Also in outlook express I cannot access the html pages and can only access
the pages by edit/copy from oe to edit/paste into explorer.
Is there any way to reload outlook express files without reformating the
