This method is only reliable for ancient DOS programs.

Yes, it will move/copy any program file(s) you select, but if it is
a Windows-based program - it will not run on the new machine.

Windows based programs do not store ALL parts in the same
folder.  MOST Windows based programs (3.x, 9x, and NT) store
needed parts in the Windows and/or Windows/System folder(s).
ALL modern Windows programs make heavy use of the system's
registry files.
