SOUND CARD VOLUME CONTROL IN DOS
from [log in to unmask]

I have an Aztech 16 soundcard. In Windows I can control its volume with the
volume control applet that came with the card. In DOS, however, I cannot
figure out how to control the volume.

There is a program called setvol.exe that loads in my autoexec.bat. It has
various parameters such as /V 14, /X 14, /C 14, etc. My understanding was that
these control the volume level (i.e. x is master volume, v is voice, c is CD,
etc.). However, I changed these numbers all the way down to 1 and the volume
in DOS is just as loud as before (too loud for me). What am I doing wrong? Is
there a way to control the volume of the sound card while in DOS?
