I don't have an "open with" option, but I do have an "open"
option. When I choose the "open" option Netscape will open
the document.

Double-clicking on any .htm or .html file will get Netscape
to open the file.

Under "file types" I have an entry called "Netscape
Hypertext Documents". I don't know why it isn't simply
called "Hypertext Documents".
I do remember that after I installed win95, and I
double-clicked on an .htm or .html document, that word97
would open and convert the document. After I installed
Netscape, all the .htm and .html documents had their icon
changed to reflect the Netscape application.

When I select "Netscape Hypertext Documents" in the "file
types" area, then click on "Edit", then select the open
command from the list of available actions, then click on
"edit", this is what is in the "Application used to perform
action" box:
C:\PROGRA~1\NETSCAPE\COMMUN~1\PROGRAM\NETSCAPE.EXE "%1"

In the "Topic" box, I see the following: WWW_OpenURL

The "Use DDE" option is checked.

I see "%1" in the "DDE message" box.

The "Application" box shows "NSSell".

The "DDE Application Not running" box is empty.

If there was an option to install Internet Explorer during
the win95 install, (which I think there must
have been,--I don't remember for sure how that worked--I
used an upgrade to win95 cd) I chose not to install it,
since I use Netscape.

This all started when I tried the Copernic98plus program. It
worked fine for a while, then a few searches and a few days
later, when I double-clicked on one of the URLs that
Copernic98plus found, it would no longer cause Netscape to
get the web page. Tech support told me that if I couldn't
get Netscape activated by entering a URL in the START --
RUN box, that was the problem. Today I started using
WebFerretPro (Included in a subscription offer from ZDnet).
When I double-click one of the URLs that WebFerret finds,
Netscape will find the URL.

This isn't actually a problem anymore, since I am using
Webferret, and don't have any reason to enter a URL in the
RUN box. It would be nice to know why it doesn't work on my
system, though. Especially since I still had no success
after reinstalling win95 to another hard drive.

Thanks a lot for your help.
