My business laptop came with Network Neighborhood icon on the desktop.
It has been working fine - until I tried to load a Socket Ether/Serial
I/O pcmcia card.
I started the load process while I was on the road. It asked for my Win
98 SE CD-Rom, which I didn't have. But instead of cancelling, I thought
I could write down the 'DETAILS" for each file that was supposed to load
and go back later to insure it was in the proper folder.
1. Well, I started to get some beeps during the boot process and then
an error msg appeared that msnp32.dll could not be found and that
Microsoft Network was not goping to work correctly. Well, I put that
item into the C:\windows\system folder where it was expecting it and it
still won't recognize it.
2. I started windows with a BOOTLOG.TXT capture and I also found
three failed actions:
a. Loading Failed = ndis2sup.vxd
b. InitCompleteFailed = SDVXD
c. ASD: failed Enumerating a Device d=BIOS\*PNP0501\0D
rc=00000001[000F9885]
Any ideas on how to correct these errors? (Esp. getting the Microsoft
Network operational!!)
All thoughts are greatly appreciated.
