Good question and it has been addressed in the past but I can't find the
dialog in the archives. One easy way is to use a program called ERUNT.EXE
that will do it for you. Here is a link to some info on this:

You can also run REGEDIT on your system and use its export function to save
the entire registry. Just select the root node (My Computer) in the tree
display and click File Export. Then give it a destination location and name
to save the file. To restore the registry, you would simply double click the
saved registry file and it will import the settings. Crude, but it works.
There is much more to the registry than this simple answer, but I hope this
helps.
