Hi fellow listees.

I'm having a unique problem with a client's machine, need your help badly.
My client had a file that was associated with a wrong program and wouldn't
open. They tried to change the association to a different program with no
success. The file was an ".exe" file and now when Win98 opens, it asks
which program they want to use to open all the Windows applications and
other program files. Example: When double-clicking either the icon or the
.exe for Netscape, the box pops up and asks which program they wish to use
to open netscape.exe. This is happening with all programs on the system
except the ones in the startup group, they open themselves fine. What I
need to know is what to re-associate the extension ".exe" with to let their
shortcuts and other programs open normally. I thought this was an automatic
function of Win98, but it seems that it can be changed, or corrupted. An
interesting dilemma to say the least!

Thanks for any and all suggestion!
