When you VIEW BY NAME, you can not sort.  Sort is only available
when you VIEW BY other.

The AUTO INSTALL check box is related to Netscape (and plug in) upgrades
it has nothing to do with saving files.

You didn't say what kind of download you are working with.  Is this
an FTP or are you saving a graphic from a page or are you saving
an entire page?

Also, how do you activate Netscape?  From a desktop ICON, the START
MENU,
or directly from the executable?

If you are using a shortcut, see if the shortcut as a START IN setting
configured for your TEMP folder.
