Hello All,

I'm trying to work out some problems with hot links in programs like
mailers that don't properly open a "non-standard" web browser, Opera.
The OS is Win95.

What would help is an explanation of what the URL:xxx Protocols in the
Win95 file associations do, especially the File Protocol. Does the file
protocol control the passing of the URL to the browser? I find this
confusing because I have no trouble with passing URLs, although others
do, and my URL:File Protocol is set up to use rundll32. In contrast, the
URL:MailTo Protocol is set up specifically for my mailer. What does
rundll32 do?

Would greatly appreciate any explanations.

Paula Ford
