A bit of correction is in order here. Excel is a spreadsheet program
while Access is a database. I would not say that Access is simpler than
Excel, but it is easier to use as a database and much more robust for
that purpose. Some people use Excel to keep small databases, but it is
not well suited for any relational database applications that use
several tables.

As previously indicated by me and others, Access is part of the Office
Pro suite.

Diane, Access IS a database application - just like Excel, which you say
you have.  But it's a simpler type than Excel, a bit like the old Works
word processor, as compared to Word.

My Video\DVD collection is on an Access database.  For a task of that
level, Excel is overkill.
